Live mullet and prawns, lures like Bolt Assault & Omega, Strada Tracka 100 & 120, Koolabung razorbacks & livebaits. Soft Plastics wise the DOA shrimp would be hard to go past.
Work your lure as slow as possible with twitches trying pause your lure as much as possible. Upgrade your hooks for extra strength. Hook your live prawns through the tail section to get the prawn to be more active.
Sept to Dec
Strada mayan and senseye 100, Bolt Taser and the Koolabung razorback & Xray Blade

Strada Raiko and Luana, Koolabung Xray blade 60 and the Gulp Squid Vicious.
Trolling deep diving lures around the mouths of creeks with rock ledges are ideal spots. When Jigging soft plastics and blades try using sharp jigs of the rod and stay close to the bottom.

Fish the early mornings on a high tide around sand bars using both bait and lures. When lure fishing for bream they often respond best to a slow wind and pause retrieve.

Fishing the Sunshine Coast
TACKLE WORLD TIP
End of October to end Feb.
Live Yabbies and live or cured Worms, best lures clear poppers like the Cultiva GoBo Popper colour #50.
Keep your rod and tackle as light as possible 6 to 8lb, rig baits as natural as possible, when working lure make small splashing action with a constant retrieve unlike a bloopimg action for Trevally, if strike misses do not stop but keep constant retrieve.
All year round with Winter the best for numbers and size.
Live Yabbies and fresh if possible strip baits, lures like the Cultiva Mirror Shad and the Strada Aife
Like Whiting keep gear light, and present bait as natural as possible, resist to strike to quickly, let fish take it, with lures a steady retrieve with the odd small twitch.
End or August to end of November.
Live Whiting and flesh baits, best lures soft plastics like Squidgy Wrigglers or Fish or most plastics with a tail action.
Work or drift baits and lures with the current making sure you keep contact with the bottom, the last part of the run out the best.
December to May
Pilchards and live Slimy Mackerel, high speed trolling lures like Lively Lure Mack Baits and slow trolled deep divers from the Strada range are lures of choice.
When using baits keep speed as slow as possible 2 to 3 knots, run more than just one colour lure and vary the depths to find what is best for the day, if you find bait schools work that area.
Live bait such as Slimy Mackerel, dead baits like pilchards and squid, a large range of soft plastic lures such as Berkley 6" Jerk Baits and metal lures like Shimano Lucanus Jigs.
There are few different rigs but burlying up and using a small wait to drift your bait down the burly trail works best, using lures in a more subtle fashion tends to work best.
